FULL TIME ADMINISTRATOR - Rackheath, Norwich 9am - 5.30 pm 1/2 an hour for lunch
An opportunity to become involved in all aspects of an expanding small business including general administration, website administration, sales and customer service. The variety of work provides several possible career paths dependent on individual skills and aptitude. The main duties will be in the office and include some involvement with our busy warehouse.
General administrative duties will include contacting customers to arrange deliveries, entering delivery details online and maintaining accurate automatically generated picking lists for the warehouse. Other duties will include invoice checking and sales research.
Initial website administrative duties will include data input, corrections, amendments and updating website prices. Subject to satisfactory progress, duties will include helping to create new product pages, drafting new descriptive text and digitally enhancing photographs. Sales Sales duties will include responding to sales queries by phone or email, sending email quotations, taking orders by telephone, inputting orders on the database, processing card transactions and phoning customers to clarify the order details.
Customer service duties will include responding to complaints, delivery problems and customer queries by telephone or email and liaising with suppliers, couriers and contractors. Useful attributes -Good telephone manner -Good literacy and numeracy -Good computer skills -Precision and attention to detail
Useful previous experience
-Knowledge of spreadsheets e.g. Excel -Experience of digital image enhancement e.g. Photo Shop -Experience of dealing with the public in person or by phone -Retail sales (high street or showroom experience preferred to direct sales) -Customer service -Clerical or administrative
-Working hours 9.00am to 5.30pm on weekdays -Lunch break 30 minutes -Subject to an aptitude for sales and subject to the agreement of the employee, weekend working could be arranged on a rota basis with others, normally one Saturday or Sunday per fortnight with a weekday off in lieu -Subject to an aptitude for sales and subject to the agreement of the employee, Bank Holiday working could be arranged on a rota basis with others, normally 2 Bank Holidays per year -Opening hours Saturday 9.00am to 5.30pm, Sunday 10.30am to 4.30pm, Bank Holidays 9.00-5.30pm
Main terms of employment
-Full time employment 5 days per week -Start date as soon as possible -Holiday entitlement 28 days per year including Bank Holidays -Overtime is not normally required but when agreed it is payable at 1.25 x normal remuneration Place of work -Rackheath, Norwich -The offices are insulated with central heating and air conditioning -The warehouse is insulated but normally unheated Salary -Starting salary is variable according to skills and previous experience. Further pay rises are subject to satisfactory performance.
