Responsible to the Supply Chain Director for delivering a commercial vehicle fleet management service for all business units operating in the UK; comprising approximately 1300+ vehicles.
As the Fleet Manager you will have ownership of the delivery of a comprehensive fleet management service, including the provision of new, long and short term rental vehicles, and fuel cards.
Your position will involve liaising with internal stakeholders and service providers to ensure that a cost effective and high level of maintenance and service is provided for the vehicle fleet within the overall Group Procurement strategy.
Specific Responsibilities
Developing and executing plans for the procurement, control and distribution of vehicles to meet company objectives and customer requirements Overseeing the interaction between and within each area regarding Fleet, Fuel, Maintenance, Service and Compliance to ensure appropriate goals and action plans are executed in a timely, cost effective manner Managing accounts with external vendors of products and services, to ensure compliance with SLAs and developing strong supplier relationship management with all key providers, leading all review meetings and involved in any dispute resolution. Overseeing the Accident Management process Approving new vehicle orders and ensuring policy compliance Ensuring fleet volume and mix is available to meet business requirements on a weekly and monthly basis Advising Managers on new equipment and specifications Ensuring servicing schedules and repairs are completed Auditing accuracy of invoices
Reviewing and updating the Company Driver Handbook and developing a driver training schedule Managing Driving Licence Audits to ensure compliance with legal, insurance and duty of care requirements Liaising with the Company`s Insurance Broker and the lead for ensuring compliance to Motor Insurance Database requirements. Researching, interpreting and reviewing information, including telematics, financial and statistical data, to formulate and present recommendations that reduce costs and achieve best practice Creating and maintaining Business Continuity documents to ensure continuation of a fleet management service
Person Specification & Qualifications You must have a proven track record of fleet management, procurement and operations experience in a similar industry, commensurate with the requirements of this role.
You will have a successful background in negotiations and experience of managing multiple teams across different functions or disciplines.
A solid working knowledge of best practices, procurement systems and contract management along with financial and business acumen, preferably gained within the automotive industry, would be required.
